Akshay Kumar demands less than Irrfan Khan

Akshay Kumar might be a well-known name in India and abroad, but the actor’s fame takes a backseat when he is put up against Irrfan Khan. Shocking as it may sound, but when it comes to be acknowledged abroad, it’s Irrfan Khan who takes the lead. And this became known to Akshay when a fan, on an outside location for a film, refused to pose with Akshay and waited for Irrfan instead.
According to reports, Akshay, Irrfan and Sonam were shooting for Aneez Bazmee’s ‘Thank You’. During the shoot, a fan approached a crew member and asked if she could get a picture clicked with the stars of the film. When the crew member pointed out to Akshay, she said that she wanted to get a picture clicked with Irrfan instead.
Confirming the news, a source said, “A lady foreigner came to the sets and asked one of the crewmembers if she could get a picture clicked with the actors. Akshay, who was standing nearby, overheard her. When the crew member pointed at Akshay and asked her if she wanted to click pictures with him, she refused and said, ‘I don’t want to click pictures with him. I want to click one with Irrfan Khan’.”
When Akshay heard this, he was initially shocked, but later laughed it off. Well, looks like Irrfan is a much more ‘international’ than our Khiladi!

Salman Khan’s new cause
Actor Salman Khan, who has rooted for his philanthropic foundation in 10 Ka Dum, is expected to do the same as the new host of the hit TV reality show Bigg Boss on Colors. Word of mouth is that Salman is also exploring possibilities how he can reach more needy people with his organisation. Salman, who is also launching merchandise for the charity, is even looking at exploring feature films to spread the word around.
Salman confirms to DNA, “It is true that I’m exploring how to go about it but it’s not something that I would want to discuss and reveal right now. In Bigg Boss my role is to ease the pressure of the contestants.”
Salman’s merchandise line includes watches, shirts, cuff-links and many other products. “There are lots of avenues that I’m exploring. It is a very affordable line as I’m looking at involving as many people possible to join me in my cause. God has created everyone equal and so we should all get the same education and opportunities,” he says.
Salman adds, “Because someone is underprivileged doesn’t mean that person has lost the right to education or happiness. I, as an individual, can only spend a certain amount on myself and if everyone thinks of giving the excess to help others, we can save many lives,” he says.
Meanwhile, sources say that the TV channel is renegotiating Salman’s contract with him to have him back on 10 Ka Dum. “I had a great stint but my contract has expired. If the channel wants me, I’m more than willing to do it again. I’m doing this now and Amitabh Bachchan is on that channel to host his show, developments will take some time to happen. But I’m very keen and hopeful,” he says.
SRK entertained by news
Shah Rukh Khan has been out of country for over a month. And yet he continues to make news in Indian dailies. And this never fails to amuse the actor.
“Sometimes I read many strange news about myself that I don’t realise its about me till I see my pictures with the article,” he quips.
The actor is currently shooting for Ra.One in London and also will be shooting a commercial ad with wife Gauri Khan – the first time the two are to do something like this.
Recently, news of him losing interest in his film and a rift in his friendship with Karan Johar has been doing its rounds . But it looks like they do more good than harm by tickling the actor's funny bone during his stay in London.
Being beautiful can kill your Job Chances
While being beautiful may have opened a lot of doors for you, getting a job may not be as easy, according to a new study.
A new University of Colorado Denver Business School study reveals that attractive women face discrimination when it comes to landing certain kinds of jobs.
For titles like manager of research and development, director of finance, mechanical engineer and construction supervisor, attractive women are considered ‘too masculine’.
“In every other kind of job, attractive women were preferred. This wasn’t the case with men which shows that there is still a double standard when it comes to gender,” said Stefanie Johnson.
The study showed that in job categories like director of security, hardware salesperson, prison guard and tow truck driver, attractive women were overlooked.
However, attractive people do tend to score when it comes to salaries, performance evaluations and college admissions.
“In jobs involving face-to-face client contact, such as sales, more physically attractive applicants could conceivably perform better than those who are less attractive,” said Johnson.
The results indicate that attractiveness was more beneficial for women applying for feminine sex-typed jobs than masculine sex-typed jobs.
The authors said that managers have to rely more on information from the individual rather than on stereotypes about physical appearance.
The study is released in the May/June Journal of Social Psychology.

Catherine Zeta-Jones voted worst dressed by PETA | Bollywood | Hollywood
Hollywood actress Catherine Zeta-Jones has been voted the biggest fashion offender by animal rights group PETA in its annual 'Worst-Dressed' list. Catherine Zeta-Jones' love for fur coats when she performs in her Broadway play A Little Night Music on Saturday.
"With her creepy cow-skin pants, ugly fox coat, and icky alligator bag, Catherine Zeta-Jones looks like shes working her way through Noah's ark with a knife," PETA said of the actress in a statement to Access Hollywood.
The organisation is also planning to hold a protest outside the 40-year-old star's Broadway play, 'A Little Night Music' before Saturday's matinee.
"Maybe she's trying to get into character for an upcoming role as a serial killer or a taxidermist," PETA added in the statement.
Apart from Zeta-Jones, several other Hollywood A-listers were included in the list for their love of fur, leather and exotic animal skins.
Singer Jennifer Lopez, who PETA calls, "Jenny from the butcher block" is called out for wearing "old-school corpse coats" while Jessica Simpson came under fire for her wardrobe choices which "all resemble her career dead".

We have not married secretly: Saif,Kareena | Bollywood | Hollywood
Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan are tired of media reports saying that they’ve gotten married secretly.
And the reports don’t stop there. They also claim that the couple has hidden the wedding not just from the public but also from their families. Naturally, the star couple isn’t smiling at this.
Apparently, there were rumors that the two of them got engaged in the presence of a maulvi on February 6th at Saif’s residence and that he’s also gifted a car to Kareena.
The couple is in a bad mood since this news is doing the rounds. Kareena has asserted that these rumors have no sense to them and that the couple will marry only after five years.
Well, how much longer will this couple battle with the media? Only time will tell.

‘MNIK’ – first day but no first show in Mumbai | Bollywood | Hollywood
There was no first show of Shah Rukh Khan’s much discussed ‘My Name Is Khan’ here Friday with theatre owners shying away from exhibiting the film following violence by the Shiv Sena.
However, industry sources said that the second show – starting after 12 noon – might be taken up in some cinema halls.
The movie was slated to hit 63 cinema halls in Mumbai.
The Fun Cinemas group of multiplexes was preparing to screen the movie – there was a huge crowd of patrons at the hall amidst tight police security.
However, other multiplex and major cinema owners were closeted in a meeting with the movie distributors and the producers to sort out the issue of adequate security if they did decide to screen the film. Their decision is expected to be known later this afternoon.
The no-show comes despite assurance of adequate security for the movie screening by Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, Home Minister R.R. Patil, Minister of State for Home Ramesh Bagwe and Police Commissioner D. Shivanandhan.
Halls that did not screen the film include the G-7 cinemas, Apsara, Maratha Mandir, Dadar Plaza, Broadway and other single-screen halls.
In a related development, Revenue Minister Narayan Rane demanded that the registration of Shiv Sena as a political party be cancelled.
